Sundays with Spud Presents: Cold Flame

When normal and unknown, feel the same/ let's seek identity in a name/ let's call it a cold flame/ and we can both share the blame/ …we’ve lit a cold flame

So here we are with all but us dismissed-
A quiet that disguises both comfort and nervousness-
We should have made time for our plans-
cuz all trouble has is time in its hands…-

Instead we searched, because there were no words in sight-
now we're hurting, because they never seem to come out right-
its hard to determine where our strength’s went lame-
maybe we should have framed the picture, rather than pictured the frame-

And so… when normal and unknown, feel the same/ let's seek identity in a name/ let's call it a cold flame/ and we can both share the blame/

We used to be each others' biggest fans-
now we sit it in the stands with sights that we can hardly stand-
so how can we stand in a shadow of a future that once shown so bright-
and how can the source of the twinkle in our eye we now see in a different light-

And as I'm staring at my life's itinerary…-
please don't tell me that forever's only temporary-
this heaven on earth will surely lead to cemetery-
my bravest fear is you'll no longer find me necessary-

We need design to align heart and head-
or else scar purple from a flame both blue and red-
This torch we’ve lit shines beautiful to some…-
but only we can tell if it will burn… or numb…-
